SDSU Student Loses Over 70lbs With Personal Training
By Vincent Silva
Working with Brian has been one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made. I needed a personal trainer because I tried working out on my own countless times with zero results. I needed to work with someone who could teach, guide, and push me to become successful. During my first consultation with Brian I laid everything on the line and told him what I hoped to accomplish by training with him; he was very open and honest. He told me it would require focus, hard work, and dedication. After leaving the consultation I knew one thing to be certain, he was willing to put in as much work as I was to help me reach my goals.

Brian and I originally started training together once a week. If I ever needed to reschedule an appointment he was willing and able to accommodate my schedule. We would meet for an hour and immediately get down to business. My favorite thing about his training is the depth of his knowledge on weight loss, strength training, and cardio conditioning. He had so much information on these subjects that it allowed him to keep our training sessions fresh and different. We worked inside, outside, or some days both places. It was always challenging and difficult, but it was also always rewarding.
Brian was also very open to altering our training sessions whenever I wanted to focus on a specific goal. For instance, I approached him and asked to do speed-training. Brian put together a workout plan that would help me become faster and quicker. He seemed happy to reorganize our workouts so that I can find success in different areas of my fitness objectives.
After training with him one-on-one for close to a year, I began training with him twice-a-week in a group setting where I trained simultaneously with two of his other clients. I was always impressed at how Brian was able to push three completely different individuals to accomplish their goals while working out together. He would adjust our workouts on the fly so that each person was getting the most out of their training for that day.
Brian also contributed to my fitness regimen on days that I didn’t train with him. He would make me workout schedules for the rest of the week so that I had a structured plan to follow for days I trained without him. Every few weeks he would give me a new one so that I didn’t become bored or complacent with the workouts. Again, he would also switch up the trainings when I asked to focus on different avenues of training.
I owe Brian so much for everything he helped me accomplish. If it wasn’t for the accountability he provided, his nutritional guidance, the take-home workout plans, and the constant push when we worked out in the gym I would be the same person with low self-esteem and high BMI that I was before I met with him. Thanks to Brian, I lost 70lbs, three shirt sizes, went from a 44 waist to a 34 waist and gained enough fitness knowledge to give me the confidence to continue to workout hard and strive for renewed fitness goals. I trust and believe in Brian so much that I even referred my roommate to train with him.
